Information and Personal Data We Collect, Why We Collect It, How It Will Be Used, Who It Will Be Shared With:

Personally Identifiable Information

In order to serve our customers, we collect personally identifiable information, like names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and sometimes credit card information when such information is voluntarily submitted by our visitors. We will only use your personal information for the following purposes: (1) to deliver the products and/or services to you that you have requested; (2) to validate your compliance with the terms and conditions; (3) for content improvement and feedback purposes; and (4) to reach you, when necessary, regarding your use of the web site or product(s).

We may disclose personally identifiable information collected if we have received your permission beforehand (such as to fulfill a third party order) or in very special circumstances, such as when we believe that such disclosure is required by law.

We may also periodically conduct surveys of our subscribers and customers from time to time so we can improve on the products and services that we provide.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

If you fill out a contact form on the Contact page, the information and request will be sent directly to me, Carmen Nuland. You will not be added to an email marketing list.

Questionnaires and Forms

Detailed information may be obtained by filling out a questionnaire such as the Discovery Session form. This information is sent directly to me, Carmen Nuland, and the form plugin also stores your submitted information for access by me on the website back end. The website is protected and encrypted with an SSL security certificate.

Email Marketing

Your name and email address, and occasionally other requested information will be collected through a voluntary opt-in form where you request email updates, you request a free digital gift that is offered (such as a PDF, audio file, or video), or you request access to a webinar or teleseminar. This information is collected and securely held by 3rd party platform MailerLite via their secure SSL encrypted forms.

Emails or newsletters that we send electronically may use techniques such as web beacons or pixel tags to gather email metrics and information to improve the reader’s experience, such as the number of emails that are opened, whether they were forwarded or printed, the type of device from which they were opened, and the country.

When you give consent to receive email updates, you will be able to receive information on products and services that may be of interest to you, including occasional related third party offers that we may send to you. You also enable us to personalize your experience with us so that we can provide you with the highest quality of service. We may also use this information to contact you about joint venture opportunities if it appears that you would be a suitable joint venture partner.

By submitting your email address on this web site, you agree to receive email from us. You can cancel your participation in any of the chosen email lists at any time by clicking the opt-out link or other unsubscribe option that is included in the respective email. We only send emails to people who have authorized us to contact them, either directly, or through a third party. We do not send unsolicited commercial emails, because we hate spam as much as you do. By submitting your email address, you also agree to allow us to use your email address for custom audience targeting on sites like Facebook, where we may occasionally display custom advertising to specific people who have opted-in to receive communications from us.

Your personal information will never be shared or sold.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Analytics and Site Tracking

Google Analytics anonymously tracks website user activities, such as pages visited, length of time spent on pages, links clicked. You will only be anonymously tracked if you consent to cookies. You may revoke your consent at any time at the bottom of the website.

When anonymous information is collected by Google Analytics, it is to provide me with greater insight to help improve the website and user experience on the website.

Anonymize IP has been activated for Google Analytics to protect your privacy.

MailerLite tracks subscribers of the Called to Design email list when they visit the website due to clicking on a link in an email. The tracking feature activates only after consenting to cookies. It tracks visits made to this website and associates those page visits with contact records. It also collects the IP address of contacts. Site tracking could allow for more accurate and targeted email segments and campaigns based on the web pages you visit.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

How we protect your data

All information collected from you is stored in a technically and physically secure environment. We use shopping cart and CRM systems that have their own SSL encryption and security to protect sensitive information online, and we do everything we can to protect user information offline. Unfortunately, no transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we take reasonable measures to protect your information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of the information that you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk.

This website also has a secure SSL encryption and certificate installed for greater security measures.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Third Party Actions

We do not control and are not liable for the actions of any third parties who we may promote. We pride ourselves in working with quality companies, but have no control over the actions of those third parties. While we are not liable for any of the actions of those third parties, you should feel free to give us feedback from time to time on your experiences with any third parties to whom we work with so that we may enhance our future service to all customers.
